Project5pi Design StudioProvidence, Rhode Island

Brand, video, web & print design for small businesses in Rhode Island & New England.

The short answer

What is Project5pi Design Studio?

Project5pi Design Studio is a small design studio in Providence, Rhode Island, and part of Project5pi. It designs logos and brand kits, produces short marketing videos and motion graphics, builds websites with instant estimates and online booking, and makes social media graphics, ads and print for small businesses in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut and the rest of New England, and remotely anywhere else.

Providence is a good place to make things. The city is home to RISD, one of the best art schools in the country, plus galleries, music and some of the best food in New England. That is the energy we bring to small business design.

Projects start at $500. To start, pay the $500 online, then pick a time for a 30-minute call about your ideas and needs. Questions first? Email hello@project5pi.com.

Typography

Twelve typefaces, one word.

Our own logo is a type study: every letter of “design studio” is set in a different typeface, then tuned to one shared height so it reads as one word. Picking, pairing and licensing type is the same work we do for a client’s logo, menu or storefront.

Color

A print palette that passes the contrast test.

Five inks, one near-black and one paper. Every color is checked for contrast before it carries text, using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) formula. The numbers on each swatch are real measurements of black ink text (#0D100F) on that color.

Four colorways of the animated Project5pi Design Studio logo in a two by two grid: studio palette, signature colors, print palette with paper texture, and light background

Four colorways, one animation

Before we picked the print palette, the animated logo was rendered four ways: a studio palette that changes color with every font, one signature color per letter, the print palette on a paper texture, and a light-background version. Seeing them side by side, moving, is how the choice got made.

The rule we keep

Project5pi mint is a fill, never text on a light background: it measures 1.4:1 on paper and 12.4:1 on ink. On light pages, green text uses #0F766E instead (4.9:1).

Motion

The reel, and the logo that opens it.

Motion graphics are type and color that move with a purpose: a logo sting at the start of a video, captions that land on the beat, a product screen that slides into a phone. The logo animation at the top of this page is our own: twelve letters shuffle through 64 font styles in five seconds, then land on the logo.

The 2026 studio reel, 35 seconds: aerials, camera moves, macro product shots, 3D, an animated character, kinetic type and live websites. Press play for sound.

We show a few directions for type, color and feel. You pick one, or mix two.

  3. Design and refine

We make the pieces, you review them, we refine until they are right for your business.

  4. Files and launch

You get organized files, and we help put the work live: on your website, your social profiles or at the printer.

FAQ

Questions owners ask.

What is Project5pi Design Studio?

Project5pi Design Studio is the design side of Project5pi, based in Providence, Rhode Island. It makes logos and brand kits, short marketing videos and motion graphics, websites with online booking, social media graphics and ads, and print for small businesses.

Do you work with businesses outside Rhode Island?

Yes. The studio is in Providence and works with small businesses across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut and the rest of New England. Most of the work happens over video calls and email, so we also work remotely with businesses elsewhere.

How much does a logo, video or website cost?

Projects start at $500. You pay $500 to start, then we go over your ideas and needs on a 30-minute call, and anything beyond that is quoted after the call. For outside price ranges and what drives them, read our guide How much does a logo cost for a small business?

What files do I get with a logo?

A logo kit like the studio's own: the logo for light and dark backgrounds as vector SVG and high-resolution PNG files, a small mark for favicons and app icons, a social share image, and a one-page guide to the colors and fonts.

Can the same studio make my video and website too?

Yes. Brand, video, web, social graphics and print come from the same studio, so the pieces match. The newportcleaninglady.com website and its launch video are one example.

Do you use AI tools?

Sometimes, where they help. For example, the illustrated character in a launch video was animated with AI tools. We label AI-generated content where a platform asks for it.

Are the fonts you use licensed for business use?

We check every font's license before it goes into a logo or a website. The studio's own logo uses twelve typefaces under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows commercial use.

Can I cancel, or get a refund?

Cancel a monthly plan anytime by emailing hello@project5pi.com; it stops at the end of the month you have already paid for. No refunds on work already delivered.

How do I start?

Pay $500 to start your project at project5pi.com/design-studio/start, then pick a time for a 30-minute call about your ideas and needs. Questions first? Email hello@project5pi.com.
